After the folding of a bale is complete, head and tail of the precut material strips can be connected in a twisted splice, so that the block forms one individual strand, which will be processed at the end user as a continuous strip of material. After splicing each individual row, the material cube can be compressed to the maximum compression possible without adversely affecting material properties. Then, the entire block is packaged according to transport and hygienic needs in PE film which will maintain the block compression and protect the material from any source of contamination on its way to the customer.
